Sixteen members met at the Old Narrogin Inn car park on Saturday night, weather wise it had been a great day and it looked like our luck would hold for the evening. We were soon loaded into the bus and making our way up to Dwellingup for a night of fun and frivolity.

We soon arrived at the platform and after a short wait while we took in the atmosphere of the little station were shown to our seats. It was very easy to imagine what it must have been like all those many years ago when this train was the major form of transport for the area. The various carriages have been very well renovated and really help to set the scene for an interesting nights travel. We were given a review of the nights activities and safety requirements as the train moved off and we started our journey. Lights, strategically positioned on the carriages gave a view of the bush and tall timber as we progressed down the line. The food service commenced soon after and a number of wine bottles started to appear on the various tables! Five courses were served, all very nice and finished with a lovely glass of Port.

We had strategically positioned Lionel and John next to each other and with a Hen's Party at the other end of the carriage there wasn't a dull moment. During the evening there was also a raffle which was won by "El Presedente" that included wine and additional items. When we reached the furthermost point for the trip, we had a short stop while the engine car was shunted around the train so we could start our homeward leg.

While the trip took three hours it seemed we were back at Dwellingup in no time at all and again boarding the bus for the trip down the hill. We arrived back at the Inn just before midnight and then made our way home. Thanks to all who attended and making it such a great night. Special thanks to Alan for organising the evening. About our Rides

From 1st of Aug 2018 new start location Rear carpark of Dome in Kelmscott.

Please review the Ride Calendar for Sunday ride start times, if a pre planned ride is not listed for that particular Sunday then the start time will be 9.00am for a decision on the day. Everybody is welcome. We are a very relaxed and friendly group at Armadale.

Below Suggestions for new riders, Also see Branch ride Guides in documents.

One of the biggest risk factors for those new to a group is feeling the need to keep up with faster riders. Stretching your comfort zone by trying to keep up may put you at risk. You should be able to ride near the speed limit (up to 100 -110kph on open roads) but there is no need to keep up if a gap is created; TEC (Tail End Charlie) will not overtake you and the corner markers will wait until TEC comes through, Don’t panic - resist the feeling of being pressured.

Above all, don’t speed trying to catch up!
