Rides & Social Events

Hi all WA Ulysses Club members
Welcome to the first WAIB – news for all members living Western Australia

What news do you or your branch have to share – rides, rallies, social events? The WA Information Bulletin (WAIB) is a great way for you to share your news, rallies, rides, fund raising events and more to all fellow Ulysses Club members in WA.
This is also a great way to attract members to your branch.

Submissions for the Bulletin close on the 28th of each month. Please send your information to davmar08@bigpond.com
Thanks to all of you who have sent me your branch event updates, please keep sending me your ride or event of the month

Bunbury is the last Saturday of the month, held at La Rocca Cafe in Treendale at 8.30am
Both of these events are purely social (not necessarily a ride, but some do come along on their bike and others come along in the car) and just a way to keep in touch with those members who perhaps don't or can't ride anymore.

About our Rides

From 1st of Aug 2018 new start location Rear carpark of Dome in Kelmscott.

Please review the Ride Calendar for Sunday ride start times, if a pre planned ride is not listed for that particular Sunday then the start time will be 9.00am for a decision on the day. Everybody is welcome. We are a very relaxed and friendly group at Armadale.

Below Suggestions for new riders, Also see Branch ride Guides in documents.

One of the biggest risk factors for those new to a group is feeling the need to keep up with faster riders. Stretching your comfort zone by trying to keep up may put you at risk. You should be able to ride near the speed limit (up to 100 -110kph on open roads) but there is no need to keep up if a gap is created; TEC (Tail End Charlie) will not overtake you and the corner markers will wait until TEC comes through, Don’t panic - resist the feeling of being pressured.

Above all, don’t speed trying to catch up!
