Ulysses RV Information
Hi all..
I have made contact with the local branch of the Ulysses RV Club.
Rick who is a Qld member visiting WA and filled me on most of the details.
The National Ulysses RV Club was set up to look after Ulysses members that wanted to continue to socialise but may not be able to continue riding their bikes but had branched out and bought an RV. It was decided to keep things simple so there is no separate committee, meetings or constitution etc. So as a member there are no additional fees to pay. Also as a member of Ulysses you are basically a member of the RV club. To join the RV section of Ulysses you need to go to the ulyssesrv.orgwebsite and register. You will then be put on the mailing list and receive a bi monthly newsletter.

Main drivers of the RV club in WA are Wayne Miller and Judy Raven who are presently traveling in the far north of the state. Locally there are about 40 couples that are involved in the west. Additionally they have a closed group on Facebook (as we do) and it is recommended that we apply to join so we can keep up to date with what is going on and also advise our program so that we may join up with other members. The Facebook page is called "Ulysses Members RV Group".

Ulysses RV Club also have an AGM and will be held on 16th-22nd October 2017 at Taunton Park Caravan Park. Additional details can be found at http://ulyssesrv.org/
A fee of $5.00 is charged to attend the AGM which is used to run the club for the year. Additionally there will be caravan park fees and fees for attending the events during the AGM. Again all the details are on the website under AGM. They are expecting up to 60 RV's to attend and have booked out Taunton Park.

I have joined the RV section of Ulysses on the Ulysses site and also applied to join the Facebook closed group.

Any additional queries, don't hesitate to give a call on 0417 942538.

About our Rides

From 1st of Aug 2018 new start location Rear carpark of Dome in Kelmscott.

Please review the Ride Calendar for Sunday ride start times, if a pre planned ride is not listed for that particular Sunday then the start time will be 9.00am for a decision on the day. Everybody is welcome. We are a very relaxed and friendly group at Armadale.

Below Suggestions for new riders, Also see Branch ride Guides in documents.

One of the biggest risk factors for those new to a group is feeling the need to keep up with faster riders. Stretching your comfort zone by trying to keep up may put you at risk. You should be able to ride near the speed limit (up to 100 -110kph on open roads) but there is no need to keep up if a gap is created; TEC (Tail End Charlie) will not overtake you and the corner markers will wait until TEC comes through, Don’t panic - resist the feeling of being pressured.

Above all, don’t speed trying to catch up!
